THE MIGHTY GRAPHIC CARD

U MUST'VE BEEN THINKING WHY M DISCUSSING GPU??.....ITS A COMMON PIECE OF HARDWARE WHICH EVERYONE IS AWARE OF.
SO MY QUESTION IS "Are You??"

FACT - 75% OF PC USERS DONT HAVE ANY IDEA BOUT GPU !!!!!

IN LAYMAN LANGUAGE ITS CALLED "GAME CHALAANE KE LIYE USE HOTA HAI YE" !!!

REALITY IS THIS IS THE SINGLE MOST POWERFUL THING INSIDE UR CABBY(CABINET)....U CAN BUY ANY PROCESSOR INSTALL ANY AMOUNT OF RAM BUT UNLESS AND UNTIL U DON'T HAVE A GPU, UR SYSTEM IS JUST A WASTE !!!

( PLEASE DON'T CONFUSE IT WITH VIDEO MEMORY OR INBUILT VIDEO CARDS (IGP) OR
ONBOARD MEMORY )

LETS LOOK AT THE TECHNICAL PART !!!

"A GFX CARD WORKS ITS ASS OUT TO PROVIDE YOU THE BEST RESOLUTION AND RENDER IMAGES AT LIGHTING SPEED ON YOUR SCREEN."

The GPU on the graphics card processes data in parallel lines called
"pipelines." The more pipelines a graphics card has, the faster it can process data

"Think of a computer as a company with its own art department. When people in
the company want a piece of artwork, they send a request to the art department.
The art department decides how to create the image and then puts it on paper.
The end result is that someone's idea becomes an actual, viewable picture."

A graphics card works along the same principles.its renders images million tyms
faster than a cpu with internal video memory can do.
TECHNICAL STATS :-

(as of latest card ie. nvidia "gtx 480")

1. Texture Fillrate Bilinear -                    40 GigaTexels/sec
2. Graphics Processing Clusters              3
3. Streaming Multiprocessors                 11
4. Shader processor                                 352
5. Texture Units                                       44
6. ROPs                                                    32
7. Core Clock                                           607 MHz
8. Shader Clock                                       1350 MHz
9. Memory Data rate                               3600 MHz
10. Graphics Memory                             1024MB GDDR5
11. Memory interface                              256-bit
12. Memory bandwidth                           86.4 GB/s

Check out the amount of processors and rendering speeds !!!...shocking rite??
..thats the reality fellas !!!
whereas for onboard video card or internal memory all dese values are
10000-100000 times less + they can perform only half the functions as a GPU
can do !!!

check above video of what exactly m talking about n what is the meaning of above
technical stats or numbers !!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------

notes :

1. foremost important thing is that one not only should have a graphic card but
also on how much performance u want (or handle B))....always go for the best and
latest one in the market!!! (ask me for help).

2. unfortunately most of the (95%) shopkeepers are complete noobs bout this

thing....for them its like "ye acha hai saare games chalenge" ....now ask urself
do you buy stuff like dis??.....u r the one who shuld have knowledge !!!

3. a GPU needs loads of power to run.....before buying one check the power

requirements for that. power requirement here means your SMPS or "dubbe ke piche
waala fan" :-P.

4. there are 2 major companies producing such chips - nvidia(green) and ATI

(red). both are equally popular and compitition between them is insane
:O.....both produce chips (gfx card) but with different architecture....usually
ATI cards consumes less power !!!

5. amount of memory dosen't have much effect on performance if u have a good

GPU......means a 512 mb card will be almost equal to 1024mb card in terms of
everything.

6. always buy DDR 3 cards (mid end generally) or GDDR 5(latest ones...much

faster den previous versions) cards. Direct X 11 support is quite necessary
these days with increasing quality of games etc.
and....
(7. It is the most beautiful thing in a computer....only the looks of it are soo
f-ing awesome ull feel like king of the world....its a small power house ).

lets wrap up the discussion........will carry on later with more details on this
hardware !!! this is an important hardware....n its very complex....still
reading bout it is lotsa fun !!!

[gfx card = graphic card = card = chip ~ GPU,don't get confused]
